Utrecht, 14 April 2023 – Utrecht Science Park is getting another innovative multi-tenant building. Kadans Science Partner and Utrecht Science Park Foundation officially gave the go-ahead for the construction of Plus Ultra Utrecht on Thursday.
This marked the start of Kadans’ development of what is now their third building on Utrecht Science Park. Plus Ultra Utrecht will be nearby the Genmab R&D Centre and the recently completed Accelerator Utrecht, also from Kadans.
Inspiring environment for start-ups and scale-ups
Plus Ultra Utrecht will be a future-proof and energy-neutral building that will offer about 23,000 m2 of laboratory and office space. Aimed at innovative start-ups and scale-ups active in Life Sciences & Health, facilities will be tailor-made and spaces can be arranged as desired. A large atrium offers space for meeting, flex-working, events and lunch. For start-ups, there is the possibility of using a shared lab. This way, the building becomes a meeting place for innovative entrepreneurs and brings organisations together.
Jan Henk van der Velden, Managing Director of the Utrecht Science Park Foundation: «It is a wonderful development that Plus Ultra Utrecht is being realised by Kadans on the Utrecht Science Park. It fulfils the acute need to offer strongly growing R&D companies at the Utrecht Science Park additional space and also offers the opportunity to welcome new partners of interest to the ecosystem. The shared labs are also a long-held wish.»
Johan van Gerven, Head of Development Kadans Science Partner: «We are delighted that we can once again contribute to the vibrant ecosystem of the Utrecht Science Park with the development of Plus Ultra Utrecht. Plus Ultra Utrecht is also part of Kadans’ international network, through which we connect innovative organisations of 27 science parks in Europe. This way, we provide innovative organisations with the opportunity to grow and accelerate research and developments.»
